Do I need previous experience for this trip?
- Previous hiking experience is strongly recommended for this expedition, along with an adventurous spirit and a love of straying from the beaten path.
- The hike is considered to be technically easy but moderate in terms of physical challenge. Good physical health is essential

GEAR LIST - What can I rent?

- 60-80 litres pack for duration of trek
- Waterproof, well worn-in walking boots – Good quality, comfortable footwear is essential. Whatever you wear on your feet the most important thing is comfort. It is vital to ensure your boots are well worn in and lightweight. Ankle support and waterproofing is recommended but if you already have something comfortable with good grip on rocks then don’t go rushing out to buy new boots – you are better off with your well-worn in pair!
- River Crossing/camp Shoes: Crocs Ideal!
- Walking Poles – Can be hired (2 poles for duration of trek USD$40)
- Sleeping bag (0-10 degrees) Can be hired

- Walking clothing in layers:
- 1-2 Pairs of Hiking pants (zip off pants recommended)
- 1 water proof rain Jacket
- 2 t-shirts short sleeve
- 1-2 t-shirts long sleeve
- 1 Polar Fleece
- 1 down jacket
- 3 Pairs of thick hiking socks
- Warm beanie or woollen hat
- Light Warm Gloves
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and sunhat
- Thermal underwear x 1 pair ( 1 top and 1 bottom to sleep)
- Thermal wear is highly recommended, being light, warm and will keep you warm at night.
- Swim wear
- Head Torch
- Water bottle: 1 x 1.5 litre bottle or hydration bladder
- Personal medication
- Camera and spare batteries, memory cards or film.
- Please note: there are no electrical outlets on the trek so make sure you fully charge and or have spare batteries.
- Snacks: Some snacks are provided during the trek but you may like to bring one or two extras just in case. If you have a dietary requirement then be recommend bringing some suitable snacks from home. We will accommodate you for Breakfast, lunch and dinner however for snacks it’s recommended to bring some just to be safe.
- Toilet paper: Most important! Also, small plastic bags or zip lock bags for rubbish which you will need to hold on to until the end of the trek.
- Wet wipes and or Face wipes: These are an essential and will come in handy after a long day of trekking and no showers.
- Plastic bags: To keep your belongings and clothes dry (wrap everything in plastic bags). RECOMMENDED: – Soft and/or hard copies of all important documents e.g. air tickets, passport, vaccination certificate, etc. and keep the hard co pies separate from the originals. While not valid, a copy makes it very much easier to obtain replacements if necessary

How much weight will I carry?
A good level of physical fitness is required. You’ll need to be able to carry your own 45-60 litre backpack with 8-10 kg. At the welcome meeting we will check everyones pack to make sure you are taking with you only what you need! no more, no less

Day 0: Welcome Meeting
Trip Briefing
Welcome to Puerto Natales! Upon arrival at a pre-scheduled time you will meet with your guide for
your trip briefing. At this time you will run through your itinerary, have the chance to ask any last minutes questions and
receive any remaining tickets and or vouchers.
Day 1: Grey
Admire Glacier Grey, Paine Grande to Grey [W Trek – Day 1]
Early in the morning you will depart on a bus from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine. The trip to the park entrance at
Laguna Amarga is approximately two hours. After arriving to and registering yourself in the park you will take the
catamaran across Lake Pehoe before you begin a four-hour hike through a small forest and then along Lake Grey. Most
days this section of the park is very windy, due to openness provided by Lake Grey, Glacier Grey and the Southern Ice
Field. After about two hours of hiking you will get your first glimpse of Glacier Grey. You will continue hiking for two more
hours until arriving to Camp Grey where you will spend the night.
There are two optional excursions you can take today in the afternoon or tomorrow in the morning while at Refugio Grey –
ice hiking on Glacier Grey or kayaking on Lake Grey. Let us know if you are interested and we can make reservations.
Hike: Sector Paine Grande – Sector Grey

Day 2: Paine Grande
Hike to Lake Pehoe, Grey to Paine Grande [W Trek – Day 2]
In the morning you will have an energizing breakfast and then prepare to hike again. If you would like, we can continue past
the camp with a day pack for a spectacular view of the glacier and a chance to cross one of the parks famous suspension
bridges. Upon return to Camp Grey, collect all of your belongings and begin your hike back towards Paine Grande where
you will camp along the shore of Lake Pehoe.

Total Distance: 11 Kilometers / 6.8 Miles

Day 3: French Valley
Round-trip to the French Valley, Paine Grande to Torres Central [W Trek – Day 3]
Shortly after breakfast you will begin hiking towards Campamento Italiano. This camp is 2.5 hours away. Once you arrive to
Campamento Italiano you will hike across a moraine and through a forest until you come to a clearing. Here you will be
blown away by both the wind and the spectacular views of Lake Nordenskjold, Skottberg and Pehoe behind you, the
hanging French Glacier just ahead of you and by many other peaks. After leaving the lookout you will return to Paine
Grande to gather your things and take the catamaran back across Lake Pehoe. From here you will catch a bus and shuttle
to Camping Central where you will spend the night.
Hike: Sector Paine Grande – French Valley Lookout – Sector Paine Grande

Day 4: Towers
Hike to Mirador Base Las Torres
Today, you will hike to the iconic towers of the park – Las Torres! After breakfast, you will begin to hike up Almirante
Nieto, a mountain with incredible views of Lake Nordenskjold and the Asencio Valley. After two hours of hiking steadily
upward you will arrive to Refugio & Camping Chileno where you will be able to enjoy your lunch before continuing onto the
Las Torres lookout. Walk for one hour through a dense Lenga forest. After leaving the forest, you will approach a
moraine and climb until you see Las Torres — imposing granite peaks rising 9,000 feet into the air. This impressive sight
will take your breath away! After taking some time to relax in front of the majestic peaks, you will hike back down the
moraine to continue hiking through the Asencio Valley, downhill to Camping Torre Central. After, you will catch a shuttle
as well as a bus back to Puerto Natales.
