Bariloche and end back where we started after a 6 day loop. This is one of the most complete weeks you can have in the area.

Travel Itinerary

Hola! Welcome to Bariloche,
Argentina. Other than a welcome
meeting and equipment check,
your day is free, so be sure to
explore around town if you arrive
with time up your sleeve. Be sure
to get a good rest tonight, as the
first day we leave early.

Pampa Linda – Chilean Border – Huenchupan
Camp: Embracing an early start, drive
(approximately 1.5 hours) to Pampa Linda.
You’ll go through border control on the
Argentinian side before we start. The path
starts off low and follows the Cauquenes River
upstream through bamboo and Nothofagus
forest. We stay inside the forest most of the
time till we reach the border monument. Here
you officially cross into Chilean territory. After
the border we descend for two and a half
hours to reach Huenchupan Camp overlooking
South side of Tronador Volcano. (8 hours; 17
km, 550 metres gain).

Huenchupan to La Junta: Today we
descend, dropping roughly the same
amount of altitude which was gained
yesterday. Though it’s a descent, it’s by
no means an easy walk (approximately 8
hours; 16 km), so be prepared to make
good use of your walking poles. Today
the landscape opens up to some
incredible views of the southern face of
Tronador. Tonight we stay at a Mountain
Hut at the River Junction with access to
thermal pools. Relax and enjoy the pools
while dinner is being prepared

La Junta to Bandurrias: Enjoy an easy
morning and stay relaxed that we are
going to walk only in the afternoon.
Hike out through the rainforest that
becomes thicker and bigger as we
head west, following the Blanco River
and passing several abandoned
farmhouses. Today it’s a moderate day
of hiking and we will reach Tito´s Farm
House for the Night. A very friendly
local farmer that will open his doors to
us. Delicious meal and cultural
immersion. (approximately 5 hours; 12
km)

Bandurrias to Todos Los Santos Lake:
Today we follow Blanco River all the
way to the lake. Tito will come along
with his horse and help us with some
river crossings till we reach the boat
that will take us to a Hotel on the Lake.
Today it’s a moderate day of hiking
with incredible views of surrounding
mountains. (10 km Hike 4 hours)

Hike up the Cloud pass to Refugio Agostino Rocca in a beautiful walk through the ancient rain forest, passing close to nice waterfalls and incredible views of surrounding glaciers. (6-7 Hours, 12 km) Night in one of the best huts of the park.

Today you have two options:

Either you walk back down to Pampa Linda and straight back to Bariloche Hotel (5 hours, 14 km)

or

you add an extra amazing adventure to finish off by crossing the Alerce Glacier to Meiling hut before heading back down to Pampa Linda.

Both great options to finish off a week to be remembered
